Facilities at The Soul Shack

Wheelchair Accessibility:

The property is wheelchair- and walker-friendly, but not completely wheelchair accessible.

There are several single steps that can be avoided within the main bedrooms, atrium, bathroom, kitchen, and lounge areas, making the majority of the house accessible. There is a portable ramp that will be in place if wheelchair or walker users visit the property, to allow access to all areas of the home.

Bathrooms:

The largest bathroom in the main house is most suitable for people with reduced mobility and the need for equipment.

The shower recess is large with no door (suitable for people requiring support to shower). There is a handheld shower, sliding transfer seat (to prevent stepping over the 100mm hob), and circulation space to accommodate use of a wheelchair, walker, or wheeled commode.

Kitchen:

The kitchen is similar size to that in a large family home, and is equipped with plates, glasses, cutlery, etc. There are two large fridges, a large freezer, new gas stove and electric oven, and a range of small appliances like a microwave oven, toasters, kettles, sandwich presses, rice cookers, blenders, an electric fry pan, and a fancy-pants coffee machine.

Campfire:

There is a fire pit on the property. Guests wanting to use the fire pit must follow Soul Shack campfire safety rules.

Air-conditioning:

We have split-system air conditioners in each bedroom and in the kitchen/lounge area. The atrium is equipped with a number of fans.

Leisure activities:

Leisure equipment at the Soul Shack includes laser tag, lawn sports equipment, huge outdoor movie screen, karaoke, a pool table, an extensive costume collection, air hockey, ping pong, crafts and board games.

Animals:

The Soul Shack has well-loved, friendly animals on the property. They are kept in their paddocks when guests are visiting. Staff will provide guidance to support interactions, animal care, photo opportunities and connection with the animals. We have Willy the pig, Electra, Patchy, and Sweety the miniature horses, Banjo the cow, Donk the donkey, cuddly guinea pigs, birds, and chickens, geese, peacocks, turkeys, and ducks. There's also a large herd of cows in the adjoining paddock.

Internet

Unlimited WiFi is available for guests. Netflix, Disney Plus and Stan are available.

Car Parking

As The Soul Shack is a rural property, there is an abundance of parking. There are two train lines (cane train and main railway line) at the entrance to the property. PLEASE ensure you stop and look for trains when entering and leaving!
