On-Site Day activities

The Soul Shack plans to offer day activities in the future. Participants will be able to attend between 9am and 5pm.

The day will be packed with activities such as caring and connecting with animals, crafts, group games, lawn sports, karaoke, costumes, laser tag, electric bikes, treasure hunt, camp fire, and cooking. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.

Activities will aims to assist participants to work towards individual NDIS goals. For example:

• Improving relationships, social skills, communication
• Increasing independence in daily life tasks
• Learning a new skill
• Making new friends
• Building confidence and reducing dependency on others
• Improving overall health and wellbeing
• Increasing community connections
• Identify and participate in hobbies and interests

The day program can be funded from the ‘Core’ or ‘Capacity Building’ section of an NDIS plan.

Typical support is at a ratio of 1:2, this can be increased to 1:1 support if an individual requires more intensive assistance.

Transport can be provided between Innisfail and Cairns when requested (additional cost).
